2 Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On Briley Parkway

A section of Briley Parkway was shut down causing a big back up in the Brick Church area after a crash involving a wrong-way driver.

Authorities with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the wreck happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 19 on Briley Parkway.

According to witnesses, one of the vehicles was traveling in the wrong direction and hit another car head-on.

Police confirmed the wrong-way driver, identified as 26-year-old Rasheed Walker, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Faith Struksness, was taken to Skyline Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was shut down for multiple hours. Authorities confirmed there was no evidence of drug or alcohol use.

No further details were released. The investigation was ongoing.
