Two people have been struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Edmondson Pike.
The incident happened Friday afternoon in the 5400 block of Edmondson Pike near the intersection of Brighton Village Drive.
According to those on scene, vehicles were stopped in the northbound lanes to allow a man and a woman to cross the street in the crosswalk. It appeared they had come from a grocery store.
A blue car carrying multiple people allegedly went around the vehicles in the right lane and hit the two pedestrians.
The incident closed two lanes of Edmondson Pike while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Both victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities were on the scene investigating and interviewing witnesses.
