21-Year-Old Killed In Clarksville Crash

A 21-year-old has been killed in a crash in Clarksville, and officials said charges have been pending.

The wreck happened just after 5 p.m. Friday on Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tiny Town Road.

Reports stated 21-year-old Austin McElwrath was driving a 2005 Suzuki Forenza when he was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Tyler Pettie.

Authorities said the crash pushed the Forenza through the intersection.

Officials confirmed McElwrath was revived at the scene before being taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Pettie suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.

According to reports, Pettie voluntarily gave a blood sample to be tested for alcohol and drugs.

Charges have been pending in the crash, and the investigation remained ongoing.
