Three people have been displaced after fire broke out inside a west Nashville apartment.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex on 40th Avenue North.
Officials with the Nashville Fire Department said the tenant was heating up a skillet in the kitchen and walked out of the room to make a phone call.
When she returned, the fire had already begun traveling up the walls above the stove.
Crews arrived on the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
The apartment suffered smoke and fire damage. The American Red Cross was dispatched to assist the residents.
The building owner would take care of repairing the damage.
