Police have identified a woman who was killed by a falling tree during severe storms in Knoxville.
Knoxville police said in a news release that 61-year-old Ruthie Carey was killed Friday night at her home.
The release said her sister who was visiting from Florida was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Two other people were killed during last week's severe storms in the eastern part of the state. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said a 60-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were killed in Carter County when a tree fell on them while camping on Watauga Lake.
Media outlets reported the Carter County Sheriff's Office identified the pair as John Paul Mathes II and his wife, Robin Musselwhite Mathes, of Hampton.
