A woman died after being hit by an SUV in Franklin while trying to help an injured dog.
Reports stated 60-year-old Robin Holland, of Franklin, stopped in the 1200 block of Hillsboro Road after 8:30 p.m. Friday to help a dog that had been hit by another driver.
Holland was then hit by an SUV driven by a 71-year-old woman from Thompson’s Station. Her identity was not released.
Officers who arrived at the scene found Holland severely injured. She was taken to Williamson Medical Center where she died.
Authorities said they’re investigating the fatal crash. No charges have been filed.
According to reports, the dog that Holland stopped to help also passed away.
