A 68-year-old woman was attacked during an attempted carjacking at a gas station, and detectives have been working to identify the teen allegedly responsible.
The incident happened at the Kroger gas station in the 3400 block of Gallatin Pike on Tuesday night.
Reports stated the woman had been standing at the pump when the suspect pushed her down and took the keys to her Lexus SUV.
According to officials, the victim and suspect continued to struggle. The woman was hit again, and she fell to the ground.
Authorities said the suspect yelled to two accomplices, “I got the keys.”
That’s when a gas station attendant yelled at the suspect. The suspect then tossed the keys on the ground and fled on foot with the two accomplices.
The victim hit her head when she fell. She was taken to Skyline Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition.
The suspect was described as a young black male who appeared to be in his mid-teens.
Officials said he was not wearing a shirt, but he did have a white cloth or t-shirt tied around his head.
Authorities said he stood around 5’5’’ tall and weighed approximately 100 pounds.
The two accomplices were both wearing long-sleeve, red hooded sweatshirts.
