A legend in the Nashville LGBT community was honored at an annual event.
The 7th Annual "Bianca Paige Day" was held at TRAX in Nashville.
Mark Middleton, better known as "Bianca Paige," was a drag queen who raised more than $1 million for HIV/AIDS research over the course of her career.
Saturday's event made sure her legacy and work hasn’t been forgotten.
Proceeds from the event benefitted several organizations including The Oasis Center, Nashville Cares, and Young Brothers United.
“These organizations that are supporting Bianca Paige Day are not the mainstream LGBT organizations,” said Harrison Perry, a community volunteer. “They are the upcoming for the younger millennial and under-recognized.”
Bianca Paige passed away in 2010 after a battle with lymphoma.
Former Mayor Karl Dean declared August 27 "Bianca Paige Day" in honor of her work and service to the community.
