An arrest has been made in connection with a road rage incident in which shots were fired back in January.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said Austin Marrs was arrested Thursday after the victim identified him as a suspect.

The incident happened on January 14 as the victim entered Interstate 440 from White Bridge Road.

He told police that a black Dodge Charger approached him from behind at a high rate of speed. The victim apparently slowed his vehicle thinking a cop was behind him.

At that point, the 22-year-old allegedly accelerated around his vehicle and cut him off.

Words were reportedly exchanged and moments later, the victim said he saw Marrs reach for what he believed was a gun.

After hearing several popping noises, the victim got off the exit at Murphy Road and found two bullet holes in his car.

Due to the known history of the defendant and the description of the vehicle, police had an idea as to the suspect’s identity. The victim also identified Marrs as the suspect.

He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
