Authorities have released the names of three people killed in a head-on collision in Knoxville.

Local media outlets report the Tennessee Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Herman Maldonado of Sevierville, 72-year-old Margaret Bowles of Seymour and 38-year-old Jennifer Williams, also of Seymour, died Saturday in the crash.

A report from the agency says Maldonado was driving a SUV northbound on Chapman Highway just after 4 p.m. when he crossed into the other lane, hitting another vehicle.

Bowles was the driver of that vehicle and Williams was a passenger in her car. No other occupants were involved.

The report says all three victims were wearing seat belts.
