A man found shot to death inside a home in Christian County, Kentucky has been identified as part of an ongoing investigation linked to human remains found in a burned vehicle.
Sheriff’s officials said Wednesday that 59-year-old Calvin Lee Phillips died from several gunshot wounds to his upper body. His body was found last Thursday inside a house on Main Street.
Earlier that day, human remains were discovered inside a vehicle near Rosetown Road in Pembroke.
Investigators later determined the remains were that of two individuals. They have yet to be identified.
Authorities said DNA testing will be performed by the Medical Examiner.
Officials traced that car to the Main Street home where Phillips’ body was found.
Authorities have been pursuing leads by talking to witnesses, but have not made an arrest.
