Kids often go to the mall for new clothes to get ready for a new school year, but some students were able to leave with more than that.
Around 300 kids got bookbags full of school supplies on Saturday ahead of the upcoming school year.
The giveaway was part of the 4th annual Back to School Expo at Rivergate Mall in Goodlettsville.
Michelle Lyons, an organizer and Marketing Director at Rivergate Mall, said there's one thing that has inspired them to do this every year.
"Seeing the smiles on the kids' faces and making them happy and knowing that we are doing something to give back to our wonderful community,” Lyons said.
The event had more than just giveaways for the kids to enjoy. There was also face painting, a balloon artist, bounce houses, and live entertainment.
