A bank robbery suspect has been arrested after authorities spotted his vehicle at a Lebanon Motel.
Officials said they took 58-year-old Floyd Calvin Clanton into custody Friday evening at the Plaza 231 Motel on North Cumberland Street.
Around 2:47 p.m. Friday, a suspect had walked into the Old Hickory Credit Union in the 1400 block of West Main Street and demanded cash by giving the teller a note.
The man, now identified as Clanton, got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
His vehicle was later spotted by a detective at the motel where they learned the suspect was in one of the rooms.
Officials questioned Clanton, which was when he confessed to both robberies that took place at the Old Hickory Credit Union, as well as several other bank robberies in the area.
No further details were available.
