Barricade Over, Shelter-In-Place Lifted

Officials in Mt. Juliet issued a shelter-in-place alert for some residents due to a barricade situation.

They confirmed a person was armed and barricaded in a home in Park Glen on Fieldstone Court. The incident began around 6:40 p.m. Saturday and lasted around an hour and a half.

According to reports, a 21-year-old man was threatening to harm himself and his family and friends inside the home with a shotgun.

The man came out of the home and was complying with officials. He was taken for an evaluation and charges were pending.

Around 7:45 p.m. authorities confirmed the scene was safe and the shelter-in-place had been lifted.

During the incident, residents on Fieldstone Court, Thorntree Court, Park Knoll Drive, and Millpond Court were asked to shelter-in-place as a safety precaution.

Those under the shelter-in-place were asked to stay away from exterior walls and windows.

No injuries have been reported in the incident.
