A man was placed in a police car after allegedly hitting a beer board inspector.
Authorities said the inspector for the city was in the process of inspecting Dollar General around 5:51 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Murfreesboro Pike.
A man approached him and began interfering with his process. When he asked the man to leave, words were exchanged, and the man allegedly jabbed his hand towards the inspector’s mouth, hitting him.
That’s when the inspector tackled the man to the ground.

Authorities said the inspector was okay. It was unknown if the man would face any charges.
