With more sales beginning on Thanksgiving Day, the idea of Black Friday seems to be slipping away, but there will be no shortage of deals this year on Black Friday weekend.
Most of the major retailers will be opening Thursday, Thanksgiving day. Here's a list of those stores, if you plan to shop on Turkey day.
- Kmart: Opens at 6 a.m.
- JCPenney's: Opens at 3 p.m.
- Toys R' Us: Opens at 5 p.m.
- Walmart: Opens at 6 p.m.
- Kohl's: Opens at 6 p.m.
- Macy's: Opens at 6 p.m.
- Best Buy: Open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thanksgiving then reopens at 8 a.m. Friday
Stores like TJMaxx, Game Stop, and REI won't be open on Thanksgiving Day. In fact, REI won't even be open on Black Friday, encouraging shoppers to "go outside."
Local retailers and malls have also gotten in on the action. Here's a list of middle Tennessee locations and their hours for Black Friday deals.
Williamson County:
- Cool Springs Galleria: Opens at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving day
Davidson County:
- Opry Mills: Opens at 6 p.m. - 1 a.m.Thanksgiving day and 6 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Black Friday
- The Mall at Green Hills: Opens at 8 a.m. Black Friday
Rutherford County:
- Stones River Mall: Opens 6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. Black Friday
- The Avenue: Opens 6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 6 a.m. - 1 p.m. Black Friday
Montgomery County:
- Governor's Square Mall: Opens 6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 12 a.m. - 10 p.m. Black Friday
Cumberland County:
- Crossville Outlet Center: Opens 6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Warren County, Ky.:
- Greenwood Mall: Open from 6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Back Friday
If your shopping center was not listed, the hours were either not available or will be operating on regular store hours.
