Police have released the identity of a man who was found dead in the driver’s seat of a van.
The body of 59-year-old Robert Minzak was found around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in a van parked at the Quality Inn in the 2400 block of Brick Church Pike.
Authorities said the cause of his death had not been determined. An autopsy was set to be performed.
Officials had confirmed he suffered trauma to his upper body, but the cause of that had not yet been discovered.
Police added they found blood and have been treating the investigation as a homicide, but they had not found enough physical evidence to confirm it was a murder.
There were no witnesses to the death. Authorities said Minzak had recently checked out of a hotel across the street from the Quality Inn. They added his driver's license showed a Dickson County address, while his van had a Florida license plate.
