Officials in Hickman County have opened a homicide investigation after a man was found dead.
Authorities said deputies responded to an emergency call around 8:14 a.m. Sunday that took them to the Highway 230 East and Highway 50 area.
There they found the body of 32-year-old Paul Gregory Hayward. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the death was being investigated as a homicide, and they were seeking more information on the location of a white 2008 Chrysler 300 that belonged to Hayward.
The investigation has been taken over by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
