Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office have identified human remains found in Palmyra Thursday morning as 30-year-old Melissa Sue Napier (Woodruff) of Clarksville.
Her cause of death was not yet determined, but foul play was not ruled out. Autopsy results were pending from the Medical Examiner.
Napier was an Army veteran from New York. She served in the military for 4 1/2 years and rose to the rank of an E-5 Sergeant.
She completed 2 tours in Iraq working as a Chemical Operations Specialist.
She left behind a young son, who was placed with his father in Ohio.
