Brentwood Named Safest City In Tennessee

A recent release of data from BackgroundChecks.org listed Brentwood as the safest city in Tennessee for 2016.

Researchers said the data was compiled based on violent crime statistics and property research data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

They added the state is home to 6.6 million people and has been characterized by its rich history and distinct landscape.

Those involved with the research said the state average was around 608 violent crimes and 3,061 property crimes per 100,000 residents.

Rounding out the top five safest cities in the Volunteer State, Germantown in Shelby County came in at number two followed by Franklin, Collierville, and Spring Hill.
