High-profile developer David Chase is speaking out for the first time after being cleared of all wrong-doing in a domestic violence case that made headlines.

The successful developer and businessman became the poster boy for domestic violence, but Chase said he was victim of a perfect storm.

Chase was later cleared and all domestic assault charges were dropped after prosecutors determined his ex-girlfriend lied in the case.

However, the damage was done.

Now for the very first time, Chase is speaking out publicly and exclusively to NewsChannel 5 reporter Nick Beres.

Chase is suing those involved and targeting both the Metro Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office.

He said the rush to judgment and lack of proper investigation should be a concern for any citizen.

“They made me out to be a monster,” Chase said. “[They] attacked my character and did all they could to make me look like a guilty person.”

Although he was cleared, the case cost him. He was heading up the Virgin Hotel development and lost it -- not to mention the cost to him personally.

Chase has much more to say, including never before heard details on the high profile case.
