Police confirmed an accused child rapist who was free on bond has been arrested on new charges, including child pornography.
Authorities with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 64-year-old John Patrick Tracy, Jr. was awaiting trial when he was arrested on a host of new charges.
Tracy was indicted in November 2013 on multiple counts of child rape, aggravated sexual battery, and sexual exploitation of a minor involving the 9-year-old daughter of his former girlfriend.
According to reports, Tracy posted a $100,000 bond and was released from jail.
Early in 2016, detectives found out Tracy had been involved in numerous electronic conversations with the victim’s mother.
A search warrant was executed for Tracy’s computer and other devices to find out whether coercion of the victim or her mother was being attempted.
Officials said images of the 9-year-old being sexually assaulted were found during an analysis of Tracy’s devices.
Also found were hundreds of other pictures depicting child pornography.
Tracy was arrested Wednesday and charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of minors.
He was being held in jail in lieu of a $360,000 bond.
