The 33rd annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals telethon has wrapped up, and the amount raised broke the previous record!

Results after the telethon showed $3.1 million had been raised for Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. That beat 2016's total of $2.7 million.

Recognized as one of the top children's hospitals in America, every day Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt has cared for approximately 1,500 children.

They can't do it alone, which has been where the telethon helps out each year. The telethon was held Sunday from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.

NewsChannel 5's Vicki Yates, Rhori Johnston, Bree Smith, and Jennifer Kraus were inside the hospital sharing miracle stories, meeting patients and staff, and talking about what makes the hospital so special.
