A convenience store clerk was shot overnight when a robber targeted two businesses in Donelson.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said officers were first called to a Delta Express on Old Hickory Boulevard after a man robbed an employee at gunpoint.
From there, he got into a silver Nissan Sentra and drove to another location.
Police said he went to a Mapco on Stewarts Ferry Pike and demanded cash. Police said the clerk reportedly didn't move fast enough, so the suspect fired a shot at him.
He handed over the cash and returned fire at the suspect. At that time, the clerk was shot, possibly in the arm.
He was able to drive himself to TriStar Centennial Medical Center.
Police said the robber's face was covered with a black scarf. He was also wearing a black hoodie and black pants, with white and black converse shoes.
