Kids have gained a new place to play in a downtown park, and it’s not a playground.
There will be a lot of music coming from Cumberland Park in Downtown Nashville thanks to Make Music Nashville. A piano has been made available for anyone and everyone to play.
The organization said it was given to them as a donation, and it was decorated with a diversity theme by kids in the after-school program at Tusculum Elementary.
“We want people to turn their heads, and if they are a pianist, if they are a musician, to be able to express their musical thoughts outside for others to hear, and if they aren't, then maybe they can play on a piano for the very first time,” said Jesse Strauss.
Everyone has been invited to go out and play the piano at Cumberland Park until the end of July.
