New or soon to be new moms were treated at a community-wide baby shower in Rutherford County.
The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties and the Rutherford County Health Department put on the free event at the Patterson Park Community Center on Saturday.
The goal was to help 500 new or expectant mothers make sure their newborn babies are taken care of.
The event featured educational workshops, carseat safety checks, and free flu shots.
Organizers said they were pleased to see a big turnout after a lot of work.
“We probably spent six months or so planning, so today it is awesome to see the impact and see the mothers benefitting from these services,” Claire Oliver said.
This was the 4th annual event.
