At least one person has been killed in a crash on Interstate 24 East in Cheatham County.
The incident happened around 8:20 a.m. Monday along I-24 East near the New Hope Road exit.
According to the preliminary report, Brandi M. Vandiver, 39, was killed in the crash. The other driver, Cindy B. Hinton was injured in the crash.
Both vehicles were headed east on I-24 at mile marker 29. Police said Vandiver was rear-ended by Hinton, pushing Vandiver into the guardrail.
Eastbound lanes were shut down for hours due to the wreck. Westbound traffic was also affected with delays.
The crash was finally cleared around 11 a.m.
