A crash involving an overturned tractor trailer closed part of Interstate 40.
The wreck happened in the westbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 186 in Cheatham County, just past Luyben Hills Road, before 10 a.m. Thursday.
Details had not been released regarding the cause of the crash or if any injuries were involved.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol initially closed the roadway to westbound drivers. They were diverted to alternate routes.
After a few hours, one lane reopened to westbound traffic. Eastbound traffic experienced rubbernecking delays.
Crews said the roadway was cleared by 4 p.m.
