A 9-year-old was killed and two other children injured in an early morning crash in Maury County Monday.
The incident was reported around 7 a.m. Monday, at the intersection of Lewisburg Highway and Seavy Hight Road, just west of Interstate 65 in Columbia.
Officials on the scene said a Pontiac Grand Prix being driven by Sarah B. Kuck was turning left onto Seavy Hight Road when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by Riley J. Ring.

The car had three children inside a 6-year-old, 9-year-old, and 12-year-old.
Police said 9-year-old, Kirstynn Edmiston, was killed in the collision. Officials with Maury County Schools said she was a 4th grader at Culleoka Unit School.
The two other children, who were also Maury County students, and both drivers, Ring and Kuck, were taken to area hospitals.
The pickup truck involved in the crash sustained minimal damage, while the rear of the car appears to have been crushed by the impact.
THP officials said Ring admitted to investigators that he was distracted when he rear-ended the car in front of him.
Investigators said earlier in the day that Lewisburg Highway would be closed for an extended time as a result of the crash.
One lane in both directions has since reopened.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene and worked to reconstruct the crash site. Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said they do not believe alcohol was involved.
According to the preliminary report, possible citations or charges were pending.
