Authorities are searching for a missing teenager who they say fell into the Mississippi River.
Multiple news outlets report the Shelby County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened Tuesday evening.
Officials say the unidentified 14-year-old was hiking with his family in Shelby Forest when he slipped on mud, fell into the river and was swept away by the water near the boat dock.
Emergency crews searched the area for the child Tuesday night using boats and helicopters.
The search was called off around midnight Wednesday for the safety of the crews because it was too dark. The search is expected to continue Wednesday morning.
