Crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation have been busy on Interstate 65 north of Nashville.
Workers started blasting along the interstate after work began early Saturday around midnight, and they planned to work all day and into Sunday morning.
Several right lanes on Interstate 65 north have been closed from mile marker 91 to mile marker 92 at the Old Hickory Boulevard exit.
Crews have been working to stabilize the slope and build a graded solid rock support.
TDOT officials said they plan to finish up around 7 a.m. Sunday.
The blasting projects have been part of a project to improve sight lines and remove part of a hill on Interstate 65 north between Old Hickory Boulevard and Briley Parkway.
The $1.5 million project has been expected to be finished at the end of May.
