Cummins Requests Release From Jail

Posted

A former Maury County school teacher who sparked a nationwide manhunt after taking a student across country has said he wants to get out of jail.

Tad Cummins' attorneys filed a motion for his release saying that he was unable to meet privately with his council while in custody.

One of the concerns raised was about a fellow inmate who was using any information overheard while meeting with attorneys to attempt to offer testimony for the prosecution.

Cummins was denied release while awaiting trial because he has been considered a flight risk.
