Daffodil Show Held At Cheekwood

It’s the start of spring, but daffodils have already been blooming across our area.

The Middle Tennessee Daffodil Society hosted a show at Cheekwood Saturday to show off a little yellow flower that isn't necessarily always yellow.

"You can see that there are so many different divisions of daffodils or styles of daffodils that you may not even recognize it as a daffodil if you ran across it in a garden, so it's an educational experience as well," said Becky Fox-Matthews, of the Middle Tennessee Daffodil Society.

Though there are 13 different styles of daffodils, the flower isn't hard to grow.

Fox-Matthews said gardeners can plant daffodils and forget about them!

For those who want to learn more, the event was set to continue through 3 p.m. Sunday at Cheekwood and is open to the public.
