The investigation took place in the 2000 block of Petway Road where crime tape had been placed around a home Monday.
Authorities said it did appear to be a homicide, but they had not determined the cause of death.
Multiple emergency crews were on scene investigating.
Those with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were requested by 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch to investigate. They said special agents had responded and added the Violent Crimes Response Team and forensic scientists would be assisting as well.
No further details were immediately known.
