A deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded for saving a man’s life.
Authorities said a commendation was awarded to Deputy Ethan Moss after an incident that took place February 4.
Deputy Moss responded to a 911 call in the 700 block of Merritt Lewis Lane where he found the homeowner unconscious and not breathing.
Moss administered the automated external defibrillator and started CPR, and the homeowner started breathing on his own after two minutes. He was transported by Emergency Medical Services to the hospital.
According to EMS Lieutenant Brian McNeeley, the homeowner made a full recovery and was discharged from the hospital.
Montgomery County officials said Moss has been a four year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. Prior to his work there, he served in the United States Army where he completed two tours of duty, one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq.
Deputy Moss is originally from Michigan. He’s married with two boys.
