A Metro Nashville Police Department detective was dragged more than 30 yards by a car theft suspect.
Authorities said officers were tracking the suspect who was driving a stolen car, and when he parked the vehicle, they moved in.
A detective ordered the man to get out of the car; however, he instead hit the gas, crashing into the detective.
Reports stated the detective’s arm went through the window, and as the suspect drove away, the detective was dragged more than 30 yards before the suspect stopped in an apartment parking lot on Hicks Road.
Other officers then took the suspect into custody.
The detective was bleeding badly from lacerations to his hands and arms, but he was expected to make a full recovery.
