Doctor Stops To Help Victim Of I-40 Crash

A victim was helped at the scene of a crash when authorities said a doctor who just happened to be passing by stopped at the scene.

The wreck happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 40 near mile marker 202, not far from Charlotte Pike.

Reports stated a victim was thrown from the vehicle. An ER doctor from Vanderbilt University Medical Center allegedly stopped to help at the scene.

Officials said the victim was taken to Vanderbilt and did not appear to have major injuries.

Authorities were investigating the cause of the crash and if alcohol was a factor.
