Police in Clarksville have asked for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an armed robbery.

Authorities said the incident happened between 8:23 p.m. and 8:27 p.m. Tuesday at the Dollar General in the 100 block of Edmondson Ferry Road.

According to reports, the suspect went into the store wearing all black clothes and a dark blue bandana covering his face.

That’s when authorities said the man demanded money from the safe. Officials said he pointed a black handgun at an employee.

The suspect then fled from the scene, possibly in a 2000 model silver four-door vehicle. He went in an unknown direction.

The incident was captured on security cameras.

Authorities have asked anyone with information on this crime or the suspect’s identity to call Detective Tracy Woodruff at 931-648-0656, ext. 5531, or call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 931-645-TIPS (931-645-8477).
