A driver has been charged after a semi crashed and rolled over on Interstate 40 in Humphreys County.

The incident happened just before midnight late Friday night at mile marker 143 on Interstate 40.

The driver of the semi, identified as 66-year-old Jorge Alberto Segovia, of California, was traveling west around a curve when he attempted to switch lanes.

Authorities with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the back of the trailer left the roadway on the left side. Segovia overcorrected and caused the semi to overturn in the median.

Segovia has been charged with due care and drivers record of duty status not current.
