Driver Cited After Bicyclist Hit By Car

Officials in Mt. Juliet said they’ve completed their investigation after a bicyclist was hit by a car.

The crash happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Mt. Juliet Road and Charlie Daniels Parkway.

Reports stated the bicyclist, identified as 54-year-old Phillip Harrell, was crossing North Mt. Juliet Road with a green light.

A car, driven by 29-year-old Mary Leaver, was turning from Charlie Daniels Parkway with a green light.

Leaver hit Harrell causing him to fall off the bicycle, strike the windshield, and fall to the pavement.

Harrell was taken to Summit Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Leaver was cited for failure to yield.
