Authorities in Clarksville confirmed a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a driver and seriously injured a passenger.
The wreck happened just after 12 a.m. on Saturday on Tiny Town Road near the Green Acres Drive junction.
Officials said a 2014 red Chevrolet Camaro left the roadway in a curve and hit a mailbox and a tree.
The driver, identified as 24-year-old Darryl H. Shuler, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the passenger, 19-year-old Maurquel McCottry, was taken to Tennova Hospital before being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Reports said she was stable.

According to reports, speed, alcohol, and controlled substances have been considered as contributing factors.
Tiny Town Road was closed in that area for several hours while crews worked at the scene.
