A driver who was suspected of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol was killed in a crash on Interstate 24 in Robertson County.

The wreck happened around 11:35 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of the interstate in Pleasant View near mile marker 22.

Authorities said the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, identified as 37-year-old Lisa A. Rios, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, was driving the wrong-way in the eastbound lanes.

That’s when she hit a tractor trailer head-on. The semi driver was identified as 46-year-old William C. Bousman, Jr.

Rios was killed in the crash. Bousman was not injured, but authorities confirmed his passenger, 43-year-old Carol S. Bushell, did sustain injuries in the wreck.

Reports stated Rios was believed to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.

No additional details had been released.
