Police have arrested a man who allegedly tried to evade a traffic stop and got his car stuck on a guardrail.
Officers said they pulled the suspect over for speeding around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 440 near the I-40 interchange on the west side of Nashville.
A captain for Metro Nashville Police said Dontarius J. Rippy took off as the officer approached his car and tried to do a U-turn in the median.
However, his car got stuck on the guardrail and police arrested him on the scene.
Officers said marijuana, cocaine and a gun were found in his car. He’s reportedly a convicted felon who just recently got off probation.
The 24-year-old was booked on charges of drug possession, evading arrest, and felon in possession of a firearm.
