An early morning crash caused a major delay for commuters along Interstate 65 South at the I-24 split.
The incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, at the Fern Avenue Overpass.
Officials with Metro police said the driver veered off the roadway and struck the rock base of the bridge, causing the vehicle to flip onto its side.
Neither person inside the car was seriously hurt.
Police said the driver may have dosed off.
At one point, the two left lanes were blocked by the crash, causing a major delay. The road has since reopened.
