The National Weather Service in Nashville confirmed a sixth tornado in Tennessee that hit in Smith County.
Officials said the tornadoes touched down when a severe weather system passed through the state Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The sixth tornado that hit Wednesday morning was classified as an EF-1, like the other five that hit the state, and it touched down in Smith County south of Hickman.
Including an EF-1 that touched down in Trigg County, Kentucky, seven tornadoes have been confirmed from that storm system.
