Several hundred people honored law enforcement officers in Murfreesboro for the "Peace Officers - Memorial Day" ceremony.
The annual event is observed across the nation to honor and remember law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
However, in Rutherford County, it draws law enforcement officers from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, Smyrna, La Vergne, Murfreesboro, and Tennessee Highway Patrol, as well as the families of the nine officers who lost their lives serving in the county.
Each fallen law enforcement officer was honored with a rose.
