Many in the Mid-State have been dealing with wind damage and flooding after the remnants of Hurricane Harvey swept across parts of Tennessee, but one Franklin family has been asking for help finding their special needs dog that escaped as the storm intensified.
"The rain just got heavier and heavier and kept coming down," said Susan Cole. "She’s just so scared of that type of thing."
Susan's 12-year-old dog Abby slipped away from her home as the weather became more severe. Days later, and after hours of searching, the Cole family hasn't found their pet.
"It's horrible. I’ve been crying every night and every day," Cole said.
Abby is a redbone coonhound, with short brown hair and a gray face. She weighs about 75 pounds. Abby needs several medications, which she has been without for days.
Anyone with information that could help the Cole family locate Abby has been urged to call Susan at 913-449-2045.
