A home in Old Hickory was badly damaged overnight after fire broke out at the residence.
The blaze was reported before 3:30 a.m. Monday at a home on Rolling Mill Road.
Officials with the Nashville Fire Department said the home was fully involved when they got to the scene.
Investigators said the fire started in the attic and was likely the result of an electrical issue.
Loud, popping noises could be heard coming from the residence at one point. Crews with the Nashville Electric Service were called out to stabilize live wires.
Fire officials said the home was still under construction and had recently been purchased. No one was inside when the fire broke out.
The frame of the residence was still standing; however, water damage is said to be extensive.
The cause of the blaze was not yet known.
