Authorities confirmed a former church bookkeeper has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars in Clarksville.

In a report, the pastor of First Presbyterian Church contacted a member of the church who’s also an attorney in early August about the bookkeeper using the church credit card for unauthorized purchases.

The bookkeeper, identified as 55-year-old Connie Parker, allegedly used the card to spend around $442,563 over a four-year period beginning in June 2012.

The report stated she spent the money on personal purchases, including vacations, car repairs, and jewelry.

Parker allegedly moved funds from different church accounts to pay off the card each month.

Her employment was terminated. The investigation remained ongoing.
