Many motorists in west Nashville became stuck in gridlock traffic after gravel spilled onto Interstate 40 West.
The incident was reported shortly after 9 a.m. Monday at exit 205, 46th Avenue.
It’s unknown what caused the debris to spill.
More than one lane of I-40 West was blocked, backing traffic up a considerable distance.
The wreck was cleared before noon. Eastbound traffic was not affected.
No additional details were known.
